Early Beginnings and Passion for Music
Annie began playing piano as soon as she was only 6 years of age. What began as basic piano lessons exploded when Annie discovered a talent for singing. Soon she was showing up in regional musical theatre productions in which she felt at home. Those very early experiences helped Annie recognize that performing was more than a hobby. It was a calling. With every performance she gained confidence and then started to explore music. A few years back she attended a songwriters course that changed her musical path. There she met other music enthusiasts and began composing songs. It really is thrilling to find out a person so young as Annie working very hard at hone her skills, dreaming big and preparing for what promises to be an exhilarating musical career.
Her Journey So Far
At the moment, Annie is studying for her GCSEs – which are rarely simple feats if you think about her music career also. She’s preparing for those critical exams while still playing music. And she isn’t stopping there. She has plans lined up – she is going to visit ACM Guildford in September for a Music Diploma. Annie hopes this step can open up brand new doors, make new contacts and propel her ahead in music. Schoolwork and a music education has to be challenging – but Annie is juggling everything well. And you would think that could keep her plate full right? Still cranking out some pretty great music, nope. Her brand new song is Let My Hair Down. It has been played on BBC Radio’s Introducing shows numerous times. Additionally, she reached the Top 30 for the Song Academy ‘Young Songwriters’ awards.
