Raised in a small town in South Carolina and currently based in the city of Nashville, American singer-songwriter Kat Velasco incorporates these diverse influences into her brand of country-pop.
You can get a taste of her style by listening to her newest single, “Kitchen Sink”, a song about learning to not get bothered by what other people may say about you.
In her own words, Kat describes it as “a loud and upbeat unfiltered anthem about gossip, karma, and the way we all get caught up in the spin.”
The artist elaborates, “Growing up in a small town in South Carolina, I’ve been the talk of the town more than a few times, and I’ve never been the type to water myself down for anyone.”
With its polished instrumentation, which is laced with a charming twang, this song is so contagious that I have already played numerous times since I first heard it a few few days ago. Be sure to keep up with Kat Velasco by following her on Instagram.
