When you get to listen to Nate Currin’s “Highway”, you’ll agree with me that not many songs are as soul-stirring. Written about lost love, it expresses one’s intense longing for someone from their past.
“I was more serious with her than anyone,” Currin opens up. “We broke up and I was destroyed. No one’s inspired me more. It ended in a devastating fashion. I’d never given myself to someone in the way I did to her… and never will again. After all those years in the RV, hundreds of thousands of miles. I always wanted someone to ask me to stay. I thought it was her. It wasn’t. I don’t know if I’ll ever be the same.”
A beautiful, layered arrangement and ethereal melodies characterize “Highway”, which represents a delicate blend of country, folk, rock and pop. The track is taken from Nate’s upcoming 9th album, Ghost Town (due August 1).
