In this era of social media where authenticity is no longer in vogue, staying true to oneself may attract contempt or even distrust. The result is that some people have had to bury their identities or dreams completely. But not Shilpa Ananth, or at least not the wiser version of her.
In the UAE-based artist’s newest single “AMPUTATE THE FAKE”, she sings about no longer needing to conform.
“This song marks the moment where I am letting go of the need to find a sense of belonging, especially if it means I need to conform to a mind view I don’t believe in,” Shilpa explains.
The singer-songwriter enlisted Suruchi Sharma for the AI-driven music video that accompanies this smooth neo-soul tune. “AMPUTATE THE FAKE” is Ananth’s first single in a while.
