Inspired by past experiences in Malaki’s life, the new song is about reining in one’s ego and learning to let go.
He explains, “We sometimes allow our ego to take control or let it define our life. EGO is a construct. It is not who you are. In this case it’s Something I created to fuel my art and my confidence.”
The Dublin-based artist continues: “We can become lost in what we feel is the right choice for us at the time. When In actuality we are blinded by our own ego and the negative repercussions it has on us. Sometimes we must let our Ego go. And allow ourselves to shine through. This track was never going to be made out of want but of need. It feels like the right time in my life to address my ego and release the song ‘E-GO’.“
